Entry For Wolf Tail

Wolf Tail (bay colt – Strive x Bright Sunday, by Dynaformer) is my first of the Americans to make it into the starting gate. She is entered on 7 May at Hollywood Park in race 1. It is a maiden race over 4 1/2 furlongs. He trained quite well up to the race and should have a chance.

In the meantime, both Valley Fox and Lady Wolf have had their first works:

Valley Fox worked 3 furlongs at Diamond D Ranch in 36.80 secs over good dirt on 1 May.

Lady Wolf worked 3 furlongs at Bonita Farm in 37.40 secs over fast dirt on 2 May

Aalsmeer third; crop update

Life is getting in the way of keeping on top of things at the moment, but please bear with me )

Invincible Spirit filly Aalsmeer ran a good third as the favourite in the 5.40 at Haydock on 25 April behind Eternal Instinct and My Mandy. She was my first 2yo entry of the year and hopefully she will go on to win some nice races.

In the meantime, I have also made some more additions to my crop:

Don Carlos (GER) – b c – Galileo x Dapprima, by Shareef Dancer

Firetail (GB) – b f – Selkirk x Snow Goose, by Polar Falcon

Aalsmeer holds a 5-day entry for the 5.40 at Haydock on Saturday 25 April.

She is owned by J C Fretwell and trained by E S McMahon. Her pilot is set to be Richard Mullen at 9st.

Dam is a listed winner and was third in a G3 behind Alexander Goldrun

Dam is an Epsom Oaks winner and also won 2 Group 1 races in France.

Cumulus Nimbus (GB) – ch c – Muhtathir x Supreme Talent, by Desert King

Apparently his name is a type of cloud that has to do with severe weather, thunderstorms and the like. Very interesting – you learn something new every day!

White Finch (USA) – gr f – Cozzene x Just A Bird, by Storm Bird

I was very keen to include a Cozzene filly in this crop and this one fits the bill very nicely.

With lots of two-year-olds still unnamed, and with already too many US-breds in my crop, I sometimes have to delete a horse from my crop as well. Unfortunately, this time it is Lady Minx that has bitten the dust.

Ghost Shadow Works

Ghost Shadow, a dark bay or brown filly by Ghostzapper out of the Pleasant Colony mare Gracious Living, worked yesterday at Hollywood Park.

She handily worked 2f in 24.20 over the all weather track.

I like this girl’s breeding. Her dam is a daughter of Fantastic Find, who is a G1 winner and multiple graded stakes placed and Pleasant Colony, who I rate very highly as a broodmare sire and a stamina influence. I like the cross with Ghostzapper.

Wolf Tail First To Work

Wolf Tail was the first to work out of the ones I have short listed so far.

He recorded a one-furlong work-out yesterday at Hollywood Park. He covered the distance in 12.60 seconds.

He was a 12 March foal, so he is actually two years old already.
